It's time! We leave for Ethiopia TODAY!!!! Finally, we will be traveling to the other side of the world to meet Cooper for the first time. The thought absolutely blows me away. We are so excited and yet, it all seems so surreal. Every once in a while, I catch myself thinking, "Is this REALLY happening?" I guess you could liken it to being pregnant for 2 years and now we are at week 36 (or really like week 100!!)
We are packed.....3 duffel bags full of donations, 1 large suitcase, 1 carryon bag, 1 laptop bag, 1 backpack, and a purse.
And the kids are packed, too! Life doesn't stop just because mommy and daddy are in Ethiopia. Riley will have swim practice, Walker will have at least 2 baseball practices and 2 Jamboree games, and Owen will have his first ever Sandlot baseball practice (it's killing me to miss this one). BUT, since we homeschool, this will be their Spring Break. This picture does not include Walker and Owen's bat bags. Yes, I know, looks like they are leaving for a month!
I put together a surprise for each of them for each day we will be gone.
We are so thankful for everyone that has helped us get this far in this adoption process! The other day I made a list of everyone that had supported us financially, through prayer (that I know of) or just plain helped out (keeping our kids, painting ornaments, or just listened). I was baffled!!!! Every single one of you has meant so much to us and we really don't have the words to say "thank you". I pray that God pours his blessings on you for blessing us. You truly have "cared for the orphan".
"Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you." James 1:27
On a side note....We will be appearing in court on Wednesday the 23rd (Tuesday night your time). Please pray that MOWCYA (Ministry of Women Children and Youth Affairs, formerly MOWA) has our letter of recommendation written and that we will pass court. Right now, 50% of families are passing court the first time...We covet your prayers!
We love you all!
